The Thermo Scientific Super-Nuova digital hot plate is To be had with either an aluminum or ceramic 7.25 x 7.25 inch top plate or a ceramic 10.25 x 10.25 inch top plate. The cast aluminum top plate provides uniform heat distribution and resistance to chipping, and it has a temperature range of ambient to 300 degrees C that may be adjustable in 1-degree C increments. The white ceramic top plate provides fast heating and resistance to chemicals and scratches, and it has a temperature range of ambient to 370 degrees C that may be adjustable in 1-degree increments. The hot plate’s microprocessor regulates the top plate temperature with internal sensors or liquid temperature by means of an included Type-K probe. It has knob regulate for consistent, repeatable temperature settings.
The Super-Nuova hot plate has a hot top warning light that turns on at temperatures above 50 degrees C and helps prevent accidental burns. It includes four programmable buttons to store temperature settings. An integrated ring stand mount holds a 1/2″ diameter rod (sold one at a time). The cast aluminum base provides durability, and a drip edge diverts spills to lend a hand give protection to the internal components. It has an RS-232 port to transfer data to a pc for storage or analysis. It comes with a detachable line cord and plug, and a 6″ Type-K probe. This hot plate is used to heat glassware and liquid solutions for scientific applications.
Laboratory hot plates are electric or gas-fired benchtop appliances that are used to heat glassware or its liquid or solid contents. Stirring hot plates can stir a liquid solution by way of a stir bar that may be spun magnetically inside the vessel holding the solution. Hot plates are commonly used in scientific research, clinics, and classrooms.
