This hot plate is housed in a heat-resistant polymer body that stays cool to the touch and channels fluids away from internal components. A microprocessor precisely controls speeds, and a continuous duty motor provides consistent stirring at all speeds. An LED display with built-in memory recalls the last set temperature, and a temperature knob adjusts the setpoint. A ramping feature slowly increases speed for safety and enhanced coupling, avoids splashes, improves spin bar regulate, and provides low-end speed regulate. A caution indicator light illuminates when heat is turned on and remains on until the top plate cools down. Stir protection mechanically shuts down the heater if the stirrer motor stops or fails.
